Bingo Basics

Players buy Bingo cards with numbers on them in a 5 x 5 grid corresponding to the five letters in the word B-I-N-G-O. Numbers are then drawn at random until one player completes a ' Bingo ' pattern on one of their cards and wins the prize.

A Bingo Card contains 24 numbered spaces and one free space to play BINGO game. The numbers are assigned at random on each card and are arranged in five columns of five numbers each.
The numbers in the B column are between 1 and 15, the I column between 16 and 30, the N column containing four numbers and the free space between 31 and 45, the G column between 46 and 60, and the O column between 61 and 75.

Playing the Bingo Game

When playing online Bingo you have the option whether you want your cards dabbed for you automatically or you want to do it yourself. Every online Bingo game has a caller or a display board for the called bingo numbers.

In the beginning of the game, each player is provided a bingo card. Each card is unique and so each player's card and numbers are different.

The organizers announce the pattern to be formed on the card at the start of the game and the caller then begins selecting numbers randomly. Players match the numbers called on their card and mark them on the card.

The caller continues to randomly pick and call numbers until a player forms the specified pattern and yells out BINGO. Some of the most popular bingo patterns are: one line or two lines or Full House or Blackout, patterns in the shape of a letter, or particular design.

Bingo Variations

There are basically two major bingo variants:

75 Ball Bingo: It is the Bingo game played in the United States of America and Canada. In this bingo game the Bingo player buys tickets or bingo cards with predetermined numbers. A bingo pattern for each game is displayed. Each game is offered with a different winning pattern. Some patterns consist of just the corners, or a line or the whole card may be marked as the pattern. In this bingo variation there is a maximum of 75 numbers only.

90 Ball Bingo: It is the bingo game traditionally played in the United Kingdom and Australia. The players buy the Bingo Cards, and then mark the numbers that are called and completes the winning pattern. In this Bingo variation, cards have three rows and nine columns. Five squares in each row contain numbers ranging from 1 to 90 and the rest are blank. The winning Bingo patterns are always the same that are usually three patterns in each game. The patterns include single line across, two lines across and full house.
